Puerto Vallarta Coffee Scene: Where To Go

1) A Page in the Sun

A Page in the Sun has been a PV favorite for more than 15 years. Located near the Lazaro Cardenas Park in Old Town, A Page in the Sun is a great place to have your morning coffee. They also make homemade pastries, cakes, and pies that are delicious. Top choices include their carrot cake and chocolate pie. In addition, A Page in the Sun serves as an English bookstore as well with numerous books in English and Spanish. Guests are encouraged to bring in an old book and donate it for credit.  Also, they actively promote the art and culture of Puerto Vallarta by regularly hosting book readings, concerts, poetry readings, and more.

2) Natureza Café

Natureza Café is located in the Versalles neighborhood which is about 5 minutes north of downtown Puerto Vallarta. The Natureza Café has a full menu which includes specialty coffees, fresh juice, and healthy breakfast and lunch items. You can sit inside in the cool A/C or choose a sidewalk table for fresh air and people watching. Also, Natureza Café also has a Co-Work space located a few blocks away from the main road where visitors or residents can take care of work.

3) Mi Café

Situated several blocks up from the Malecon near the Rio Cuale River, Mi Café serves hearty breakfast and lunch along with great coffee and teas. They only have 12 tables in the small restaurant, making it a sweet and cozy place to enjoy breakfast. Mi Café serves authentic Mexican breakfast and American breakfasts including French toast, egg dishes, and smoked salmon bagels. Make sure to come hungry as their serving sizes are quite large yet affordable, too. If you need to get some work done while on vacation, many people like to bring their laptops and work as they enjoy the tasty offerings.

4) Café Oro Verde

A hidden gem in the 5 de Diciembre neighborhood, Café Oro Verde is a family run business that grinds their own coffee. Some coffee connoisseurs have commented that Café Oro Verde has the best coffee in all of Puerto Vallarta. They roast coffee beans four times each day, and the owner is a master and knowledgeable about great coffee. Support local businesses and start your day with a delicious cup of freshly roasted coffee at the Café Oro Verde. Bags of roasted coffee beans or grinds are available for purchase as well. It’s a great gift to take back home.

5) Dee’s Coffee Company

Located just one block from PV’s iconic pier, Dee’s Coffee Company is known for serving tasty pastries, muffins, and scones. Plus, the amazing beach and ocean views can’t be beaten.  Not sure what baked good to choose to go with your morning brew? One of the most popular homemade choices is their cranberry almond scone. Any of their delicious baked goods will go down great with a nice cup of hot tea or coffee. Don’t forget to stroll down to the pier to check out one of the best views in Puerto Vallarta.
