Sammy started working with a distillery in Jalisco that started producing his premium tequila, then an importer of wine in Napa Valley began to import the premium tequila into the USA in 1999, which made the premium tequila a big success in America. Today, Sammy Hagar’s premium tequila is the second best premium tequila that is sold in the USA.
Cabo Wabo Cantina – How did the name originate?
Sammy Hagar came up with a neat play on words before the Cabo Wabo Cantina was opened. One evening Sammy noticed an intoxicated local man staggering around trying to walk. The intoxicated man could barely walk or stand upright and Sammy said to himself that the intoxicated man was doing the “Cabo Wobble”, which he just shortened to Cabo Wabo. Sammy knew at that moment that it would be the perfect name for his tequila bar that he would be opening and owning soon in Cabo San Lucas, and was Sammy right? Yes, he was!
