Everyone wants to achieve that classy, sexy look with sunglasses when they’re on vacation, but it can be so much harder than anyone would ever guess to get the right pair for you. This is a real shame, of course, because sunglasses are some of the most versatile accessories that you can employ.

That classy look with sunglasses

Sunglasses hide the effects of a late night, protect from UV rays, and can really set off whatever you choose to wear when you’re out and about. If you want to get the perfect pair of sunglasses for you, however, it needn’t be a case of trying on pair after pair for hours on end… all you really need to know is what styles suit the shape of your face best. After you know that it’s a cinch to find sunglasses that love you as much as you love them! Here’s out quick guide to finding out your face shape, and which sunglasses will suit you best;

What is your face shape?

It’s much easier than you might think to figure out what shape your face is. All you need is a hair tie or bobby pins (if you have long hair), something that draw on (and wipe off) glass, and a mirror. Pull back any hair that might be getting in your way and trace the outline of your face on the mirror in front of you. Once you have this outline you can match it to one of our descriptions (which come with a basic rundown of what kind of sunglasses will suit you best!).

Heart
Heart shaped faces are widest across the forehead and become progressively narrower towards the chin. This shape of face is best suited to sunglasses which mimic this shape; frame styles like cat eye, wayfarer, and sports inspired styles are all narrower at the bottom.
Round
A round face is widest in the middle (across the cheeks) and narrows slightly at the top and bottom. Rectangular, angular, and oversized sunglasses will counterbalance the roundness for a sleek and sophisticated look. Think cat eye, wayfarer, and square frames.
Oval
An oval face gives you a huge amount of variety when it comes to sunglasses (this may be a good or bad thing, depending on your ability to choose!), but round and square frames, in particular, are great for oval faces. Think aviator and wayfarer frames, and you’ll be on the right track, just watch the sizing. Oversized sunglasses don’t fit well with oval faces.
Square
Square faces feature strong jawlines, wide foreheads, and prominent cheekbones. Rimless glasses with softer lines are best for this type of face with round and shield frames being the absolute best.
