Shopaholics in Puerto Vallarta should beware as they will be spoiled for choice. There are numerous fabulous stores, malls, markets, fashion boutiques, galleries, jewellery shops, candy stores and farmer’s markets for all to enjoy.

The following is a quick guide when shopping in Puerto Vallarta:

The Malecon

The “malecon” is the world famous Boardwalk on Puerto Vallarta’s beachfront. There are numerous handicraft shops to buy last minute trinkets or sit and enjoy an ice cream and many shops for souvenirs, tequila, jewellery and beachwear.

Basilio Badillo

If you are searching or seeking local designer fashion (resort and swimwear), jewellery and house linen items (bedding and soap), then Basilio Badillo is probably one of the best locations. In the high season between November and May, Friday night is known as the weekly Friday Night Shuffle where free drinks and live music is on offer outside some stores.
