The heat is on in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and the warm summer months have arrived in Banderas Bay. Puerto Vallarta welcomes thousands of visitors each year because the weather is wonderful all year-round. However, during the summer months, extreme humidity and heat can occur in Puerto Vallarta, and if you aren’t used to it, the heat can be quite intense. Will you be visiting Puerto Vallarta in the near future? If you will, then you should read below to learn three wonderful ways to beat the heat in Puerto Vallarta.

The Puerto Vallarta Summer Activity List includes:

Head to the Beach

Of course, the most obvious way to beat the heat in Puerto Vallarta is to simply head to the beach and go swimming in the cool ocean water. Puerto Vallarta is well-known for its beautiful beaches with a sandy shoreline that stretches along the Banderas Bay for many miles. Locals and visitors alike always love going to the beach during the summer. Would you like to be in the center of the action? If so, then you should go to Los Muertos beach that is near the Puerto Vallarta pier in Old Town. There are a variety of restaurants right on the beachfront, and you can lay back and relax under a shady chaise lounge, or go swimming. Order a cold drink, eat lunch and take in the Banderas Bay’s natural beauty all at the same time. One of the best beaches in the entire bay is the Conchas Chinas beach, which is located in the southern area of town. Plan ahead if you are going to this beach because there aren’t any restaurants. You will want to pack snacks and sandwiches, an umbrella, and a blanket so that you can lay on the sand and be comfortable. Have you been dreaming about riding horses on the beach? If so, then you need to go to Bucerias on the northern shore, and you can ride calm and friendly horses for a small fee as the water laps at their feet.

Enjoy the Outdoors

There are many different hiking paths in Puerto Vallarta, and they all will take you to waterfalls and swimming holes. During winter and spring months the rivers get dry, but when summer arrives the area’s rivers and water holes are solidly replenished from the summer rains. Palo Maria is ideal if you like adventure and nature. It is conveniently located next to Garza Blanca Preserve Resort & Spa, which is just south of Puerto Vallarta. When you are hiking, you will see the river and a few water holes that you can cool down in while swimming. You can also sit under the massively large trees that are along the river. Hiking a bit further inland you will find more swimming holes and a waterfall, which is perfect for a dive or just floating. About thirty minutes south from Downtown Vallarta is Chico’s Paradise on the PV Manzanillo highway. Visitors will love the river and amazing rock formations, which is where you can cool down with a nice dip. While you are there, you should take advantage of the excellent Mexican restaurant located on-site where delicious cuisine is provided. You can eat lunch while you take in the amazing jungle and river views.

La Isla Shopping Center’s VIP Cinema

Puerto Vallarta is fortunate to have a VIP Cinema inside the La Isla Shopping Center where you can escape when you have had enough heat and sun. The La Isla Shopping Center is found in the famous Hotel Zone near Fluvial. You can cool down in style as there are soft leather recliners that are very comfortable. The VIP Cinema has a full menu so visitors can order anything from fresh sushi to burgers or desserts. You just press the button by your chair, and a waiter will come and take your order, then deliver it to you, too. Make sure you do some shopping at La Isla when the movie is finished as there are tons of great shops, boutiques, and stores to peruse. They also have a turtle sanctuary and a fish pond near the main entrance that is worth a visit.
